Shannon Skinner Doherty

Shannon co-founded Dignata in 2011 with her husband James. She is the director and visionary for Dignata.  Shannon has taught jewelry-making skills and offered jobs to girls who have been rescued from the streets as children in India.  She has regularly gone into the brothels of Red Light Districts in Europe, where many Eastern European and Latin American women are being exploited. There she made friends with trafficked women, praying with them regularly, and brought freedom to many, and hope to many more. Through Christ's empowerment and the practical work of Dignata, Shannon has helped women become free from dark places of sexual slavery and debt bondage and has given them a new path of dignity through the work of creating beautiful things with their hands.

Shannon is passionate about learning and teaching truth; following Jesus into wild adventures, and homeschooling their three young children.

James Doherty

James is the business brains behind the operations of Dignata and the non-profit he founded, Business For Orphans.  As an entreprenuer since youth, with a can-do attitude, and the Christian heart of an encourager, James has paved the way for a better life and empowerment of countless destitute women and children into freedom.  Along with Shannon, he co-founded Dignata in India in 2011 where it started with three branches.  He has grown the organization into Amersterdam, Holland and Riga, Latvia in Europe, and is establishing the Dignata Ranch in the U.S. as a place to train up and send out more workers to reach more enslaved women and children.

James is passionate about justice issues, following wherever Jesus leads, and being an awesome dad and best friend to his wife.
